Durham City Cakes was established, by Amanda,  in 2006, A self taught, multi award winning cake artist based near Durham City, in the North East of England. 

Amanda, originally trained as historian and Primary teacher, but found her love of art in her cakes, taking every opportunity to make cakes for family and friends, until it eventually took over, and she opened her doors to the public. 

Running a successful cake business,  takes constant development of skills, determination and most importantly, 'passion'. Amanda has worked in the industry for over 15 years and accumulated many skills and techniques, trained with some of the best cake artists in the industry and is now a certified CakeFlix Master. 

Durham City Cakes, is now a home bakery,  having closed her shop in 2020, to focus more of her time on creating delicious recipes and edible art, to feed the eyes and delight the taste buds. 

Durham City Cakes is fully registered and insured , holds a Five Star food Hygiene Certificate & fully trained in allergens intolerance, ensuring all cakes are created in a safe, clean kitchen with fully trained staff.
